I've only just begun combing through the multi-fandom friending meme [what? a friending thing on LJ where every person on it isn't like "ugh no fandom, I only friend people who post real stuff"? unpossible! -ed.] and it's already clear there are more than enough TGP fans on this site to sustain a comm, we just hadn't been finding each other. So now there is one! Welcome to thegoodplace. Everything is great.

Even as a person who posts predominantly RL stuff I find this attitude so weird! 95% of my LJ friends who at this point are "RL posts only/predominantly" friends (because our fandoms have diverged) started out as fandom friends, and I've gotten into so many awesome things because of that.

So was definitely very happy to see that friending meme as well, especially after browsing desultorily through 5 pages of the non-fandom one (which was full of the "no fandom plz" and finding only one new person who seemed interesting (and, of course, lots of other cool people... that I was already friends with from past fannish connections :P)

This! And since fandom space overlaps a lot with queer space, it's not a good look for these anti-fandom people.
