first and last
Oct. 15th, 2025 10:38 amA delayed meme ganked from
impala_chick: Share the first and last lines of the last five stories you have posted to AO3.
This sounded good since I've been wanting to get LJ up to date on my posted fic, and then I realized the fun twist that all five of my latest posted works were from

Last: And where the hell did he go?
First: “I’m all ears,” Thom said, settling down at the little table in his cabin. Mat sat opposite him, each of them holding a wooden bowl of hot soup and rationing out its warmth as the cold of the nighttime sea air was beginning to bring a serious bite.
Last: Thom put a light hand on Mat’s wrist. “If we live long enough,” he said, “you’ll hear it all.”
First: “I shouldn’t have let you use fire. It disrupted the unity of action.”
Last: She wondered what would happen right now if she got up on Mr. Stuart’s desk, spun around, and burst into flames.
First: “Let’s go home,” Waldorf said. It was a relatively quiet moment in the theatre, since Gonzo had requested complete silence for a daring escape act, and a couple people actually shushed him.
Last: “Well, then she must be way too good for the Electric Mayhem,” Waldorf said. “Forget leaving early! This I gotta see.”
First: “Feeling better?”

writetomyheart, a round-robin flashfic community where you must base the opening line of your fic on the closing line of the previous person's fic. It's been responsible for most of my posted works on AO3 over the last couple years, it's a lot of fun, and for anyone who might be out there looking for things to do on LJ, guess what! They still use their LJ comm! (You can do it from genuinely wherever, but I can report that LJ is not yet deprecated.)
